Crawford Depot (Carroll, New Hampshire)
Crawford Depot, also known as Maine Central Passenger Railway Station, was built in 1891 in the town of Carroll near the height of land of Crawford Notch, a major pass through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It was one of the most elaborate passenger depots built by the Maine Central Railroad Mountain Division, because of its prominent location at the top of the notch, and because of its proximity to the Crawford House, a major resort hotel which burned in 1972.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NRHP nomination for Crawford Depot )〕
The depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.〔 It presently serves as a visitor center and shop operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club. It is also located at the northern terminus of most trains on the "Notch Train" service of the Conway Scenic Railroad.
